Today we were so lucky to be able to watch the children from Kids Biz Day care performed to us. We all had a great time and really enjoyed the show. The children were so so so cute and we all agreed that their singing and acting were fabulous. We also thought that the teachers were very funny with their acting.
Torbay Idol
WOW!! we have lots of talents in our Kawau team. We were so proud of all the performers. It takes a lot of courage to be able to stand in front of a large group of audience. Some of the performance were...dancing, singing, playing an instrument, poetic and acting.
Zoo trip
We had a fabulous day at the zoo. First we looked at the birds in the forest, we needed to be super quite for the birds to come out. John gave us some picture of birds to spot. We managed to find them all, some of the birds we found were Kaka, Parakeets, a Tui, a Saddleback, a Kereru and a Bellbird.
Next we learnt about pests in New Zealand and how they could be caught and keep our native birds and animals alive with Kirsty The animals and birds that lives only in New Zealand we call them "endemic".
After that we were in the Nocturnal house to learnt about kiwis. Fraser taught us about how to keep the kiwis alive and the process they got through to protect them. The kiwi house was very dark but we managed to see the kiwi came out to look for food. We also learnt that the kiwi shared the same enclosure with the bats.
Last week we wrote instructions on how to plant beans. Today we have planted them. We will watch them grow over the coming weeks. Hopefully it will be big enough for us to take them home to transfer them in our garden before the term ends.
We had a fun session learning the skills of soccer. We learnt to kick the ball from the side of our foot and tricks to stop the ball. We also played cow boys and cow girls game. We've discovered that in Room 21 we have some great soccer players.

This week we have started our team athletics. We did five different activities. In our groups, we learnt to work and helping each other. We also learnt different skills for different activities.
